Overview: A simple island stay that builds in recovery time and treats ferry reliability, sea conditions and waste reduction as core planning factors.

Day 1: Travel to Sihanoukville and take a confirmed ferry to the correct Koh Rong pier. Check in, learn the accommodation’s swimming and emergency guidance, and keep the first afternoon light.

Day 2: Choose a beach day and a snorkelling or boat trip with life jackets, mooring practices that avoid coral damage and no wildlife feeding. Bring reusable water containers where refills are available.

Day 3: Take a marked forest or village walk with local guidance, or switch to another beach by authorised boat. Ask before photographing residents and avoid unmarked inland paths.

Day 4: Return on a morning ferry with several hours of buffer before any flight, bus or international connection. Ferries may be delayed or cancelled by weather.

Practical planning: November to April usually has calmer crossings. Confirm the pier and boat company the day before, carry cash and sun protection, and never leave plastic or cigarette waste on beaches.
