What to expect
Explore the Preah Vihear Atthaross Museum, officially opened to the public in June 2026 at the Phnom Preah Reach Throap cultural resort on Oudong Mountain. The restored sanctuary bridges Angkorian foundations with the later Oudong royal era and takes its name from its monumental 18-cubit standing Buddha.
Inside, visitors encounter historic Buddha images, kneeling celestial figures, sacred objects recovered from the stupas of Kings Ang Eng and Ang Satha, and other antiquities connected with Oudong's religious and royal heritage.
The museum is in Chey Odom Village, Psar Dek Commune, Ponhea Leu District, Kandal Province. It opened publicly on 29 June 2026. Confirm current opening hours, admission arrangements, and access conditions locally before making the trip.
