What to expect
Koh Samseb—also known as Koh 30—is a community-based ecotourism area on the upper Mekong in Sambo District, Kratie. Community activities include homestays in Khmer-style houses, camping on dry-season white-sand beaches, cycling and birdwatching, boat tours through flooded forest, traditional fishing, forest and island walks, swimming and learning about local and Indigenous culture.
The community reports around 218 bird species, including threatened species, and offers local food, homestays, camping, boat and bicycle rental, guiding and tree planting. Koh Samseb is about 95 km north of Kratie town on National Road 7 and around 65 km south of Stung Treng. Services and river access are seasonal; contact the community committee to confirm a package and current prices.
