What to expect

Banteay Chhmar Community-Based Tourism connects the great Angkorian temple complex with village life. Local guides interpret the face towers, Buddhist imagery and extensive bas-reliefs, while optional activities include ox-cart or kuyon journeys, bicycle rental, silk-centre visits, traditional music, rice flattening and community meals inside or near the temple.

The CBT’s published 2025 price list gives a standard homestay from US$8 per room, temple entry at US$5 per person, a local guide at US$15 per tour, breakfast at US$3 and lunch or dinner at US$6. Guesthouses and temple-area adventure tents are also available. Confirm current rates, availability and weather-sensitive activities directly with the community.
