Road to Isanapura Capital Cycling and Obstacle Run 2026
Cyclists and obstacle runners explored Sambor Prei Kuk’s pre-Angkorian landscape during a heritage sports event celebrating the site’s ninth World Heritage anniversary.
What to expect
On 5 July 2026, the cycling and obstacle-running event “The Road to Isanapura Capital, Pre-Angkorian Chenla” was held at Sambor Prei Kuk Archaeological Site in Kampong Thom Province. The course combined athletic challenges with the cultural landscape surrounding the ancient capital of Isanapura.
The Ministry of Tourism, Kampong Thom Provincial Administration, KK Running Club and the National Authority for Sambor Prei Kuk co-organized the event to celebrate the ninth anniversary of Sambor Prei Kuk’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
