On 15 October 2026, Cambodia observes the Commemoration Day of His Majesty the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk, known posthumously as Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh. The date marks his passing on 15 October 2012 and honours his central role in Cambodia’s independence and modern history.
The official public holiday is observed nationwide. Formal tributes are traditionally held at the Royal Palace, royal and government institutions, and at the King Father’s royal statue near Phnom Penh’s Independence Monument. Schools, government offices and many businesses close for the day.
