What to expect
Around the September equinox, early risers gather at Angkor Wat to see the sun emerge in alignment with the temple’s central tower.
Arrive before dawn, carry water, dress respectfully, and allow extra time for the Angkor entrance process. The clearest alignment is weather-dependent and is generally observed around 22–23 September.
